The Anastasi men graduated together June 12 with various degrees from the LeBow College of Business and the College of Information Science and Technology.

A Washington Township family reached a milestone when a father and his two sons received a total of five degrees during Drexel University's commencement June 12.

Frank Anastasi, Sr. earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration while his son, Frank Jr., earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and a Master's in Business Administration. Frank Jr.'s twin brother, Christian, graduated with both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Information Systems.

The Anastasi twins said they knew upon entering Drexel five years ago that they would share graduation day with each other, but neither realized they would graduate with their father as well.

It was not until Frank Jr. stopped by for a drink at Mikey's Bar and Grill to meet his father and his classmates that they made the connection.

"I introduced my son to some classmates and one of them pointed out we would all graduate in June 2010. I was six months into the program before we discovered we would graduate together; it was never on my mind when I enrolled," Frank Sr. said.

Frank Sr. added that he was taken aback by the attention thrust upon the Anastasi family.

"The timing of this was pure happen-stance. I never thought I would be able to graduate with my sons," Frank Sr. said. "It is a good story though. I think parents can relate to it because they understand the pride of seeing a child graduate, and to be able to be a part of the graduation as well is a real honor."

Frank Sr., currently the CFO of Pennsylvania Hospital, said he enrolled in LeBow's Executive MBA program in order to keep up with the dynamic business world.

"I feel that you must keep moving forward in this field; staying stagnate really means you are moving backwards," Frank Sr. said.
