Tennis wins, swimming breaks records at CAA's

The Drexel men's and women's tennis teams are each coming off of convincing conference victories, as both teams defeated Hofstra March 6.
Both the men and the women won by a margin of 6-0.
After blanking the Pride, the Drexel men's tennis team improved to 4-4.
Sophomore Nikoloz Kurdadze had another dominating performance, as he won men's first singles in straight sets 6-0, 6-1.
The women are 6-3.
The shining stars for the teams against Hofstra were, for the men, freshman Jegnathan Srinivasan, who won his first career colligiate match in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 and for the women it was Zineb Hilali. The junior won her first set 6-3 and won her second set in a tiebreaker 7-5 at first singles.
The women will next take on James Madison and Georgia State in Towson Md. March 26.
Swimming
Both the men's and women's swimming and diving teams ended their seasons on extremely high notes, performing outstandingly at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships.
For the men, senior T.J. Southmayd won the 200 IM while also breaking the school record.
Junior Armaga Yavuz won the 200 fly for the third consecutive year.
Yavus won with a record setting time that could possibly land him a spot in the NCAA championships.
Southmayd's time in the 200-backstroke earned him all-CAA honors as a top-three finisher in that event.
Freshman Doga Celik broke school records in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle in his first ever appearance in the CAA championships.
Junior Ian Jevnick won the CAA's Most Outstanding Men's Diver Award by winning the 1-meter dive and coming in second for the 3-meter dive.
For the women, records were broken left and right as junior Maria Coman broke the 100-backstroke record, freshman Lauren Faykes broke the 200-backstroke record and sophomore Malin Wiberg broke the 200-breaststroke record.
The three afore mentioned swimmers joined sophomore Morgan Cichewicz and broke the 200 medley relay record.
Overall, the men placed fifth as a team while the women placed ninth.
