Ari Hauben, director of the Office of Campus Activties, will resign from his position this year. Hauben has been involved with many campus organizations in his time at Drexel.

After over 10 years of working at Drexel, Ari Hauben, director of campus activities, has decided to resign from his position.

"Ari has been a wonderful asset to Drexel. He has been instrumental in transforming campus life and keeping our students engaged in campus activities," David Ruth, dean of students, stated.

Hauben will be joining the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America, a humanitarian aid/ministry organization. He will be involved in the Joseph Project, which provides families in need in Israel with goods and services.

He said he feels torn between the two job positions and will miss interacting with students. Although he is moving on to something different from his work at Drexel, Hauben said he plans to come back into the higher education field in the future.

One of the highlights of Hauben's career at Drexel was developing and facilitating the Certificate Excellent Organizations Leadership II program, which branches off the award-winning CEO program.

"Ari's most notable contribution has been his work with [the CEO], our nationally-acclaimed student leadership development program," Ruth stated.

Reflecting on his time here, Hauben said there has been a great explosion of student organizations, and it has been a blessing to work at the University.

"If it wasn't for [Ari], I don't know where the Drexel Islamic Society would be. So, [I] thank [him] very much on behalf of DIS," Bilal Baqai, a member of the Drexel Islamic Society and a pre-junior civil engineering major, wrote in an e-mail.

In addition to being the director of campus activities, Hauben said, "I pride myself in being a student advocate."

According to Shaw Levin, president of the Jewish Student Association and Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity and a senior computer science major, Hauben's excellence surpasses his top notch abilities as an administrator; what makes him an invaluable asset is that he is excited to work with students and wants to see everyone succeed. He is always supportive but still honest with groups when something cannot be done, Levin stated in an e-mail.
