There's a professional women's soccer league. There's a professional women's basketball league. There's a professional women's softball league.

However, there's no professional women's football league. Instead, there's only a lingerie football league.

What? Scantily clad women playing football? That's just dumb.

Why can't there be an actual women's league for America's favorite sport rather than just a promiscuous pseudo-league? WNFL has a nice ring to it.

Honestly though, even if we do have a "lingerie" football league, it doesn't have nearly as much widespread media coverage as the NFL does. It costs $7.95 to watch just one game on the league's official Web site! Blasphemy!

If ratings are going to be a problem, why not create a female celebrity football league? Take all those D-list celebrities waiting in line for Dancing with the Stars and put them in uniform.

I'd definitely tune in to watch Barbara Walters sack a quarterback. I wouldn't want Lindsay Lohan on my team, as she might mistake the boundary lines for lines of illicit drugs. Britney Spears might be a better choice because she'll only sign if both her kids get signed too. A three-for-one deal sounds like a good idea.

Sarah Palin could be the referee and just ramble on for hours about one call in the first five minutes of play. So far, I'm thinking this reality show would have a prime-time slot on FOX at least.

Yahoo! fantasy sports could follow the league as well, only instead of using actual statistics for points, scandals and media coverage for non football-related things could dictate the scores.

All celebrity jokes aside, there really should be a pro-football league for women. I'm sure if playing football weren't considered taboo for most women, there would be a lot more interest in the idea of an all women's national football league.

All jokes aside, I can't believe I just talked about how we should have a women's football league. I mean, come on.

Just kidding.

Simple boys play football, baseball, football and other sports that men play from a young age. Only the best in those sports make it to the highest levels of those sports. (Continued…)
