"People need to take a chill pill, not a swine flu pill," Anna Roberts, a freshman communications major, said.

Drexel's health department does not normally do testing for the H1N1 virus specifically but according to Gold there have been several cases of influenza-like illnesses on Drexel's campus.

One such case was freshman Casey Tabas, who recently got over what her doctor diagnosed as swine flu, and is now back to Drexel. She hadn't gotten the vaccine because it became available after she was struck by the virus.

"I felt horrible. I had constant fevers and body aches every time I woke up. All I could do was take Tamiflu and drink a lot of liquids," Tabas said.

Gold said getting the vaccine wasn't only for keeping students from feeling horrible and missing classes.

"I want to stress that getting vaccinated for H1N1 is not just for your own protection from the H1N1 flu-it's also to protect the entire Drexel community and the Greater Philadelphia region, along with your friends and family from the disease. Getting vaccinated is the responsible thing to do if you fall into one of CDC's risk categories for the H1N1 flu."

The clinic used up Drexel's remaining reserve of the vaccinations and due to a nationwide shortage the University was not sure when it would receive another shipment. When, and if it becomes available, the School of Public Health plans to make it available for individuals the University has said are at risk for getting H1N1.
