Game 2 of the World Series was a complete 180-degree turn from Game 1 as the New York Yankees took the win 3-1, with the win going to A.J. Burnett and the loss going to the Pedro Martinez.

Ryan Howard struck out four times and all of the Phillies hitters had trouble producing runs.

Both Hideki Matsui and Mark Teixeira hit solo home run for the Yankees.

The Phillies had a huge scoring opportunity in the top of the eighth inning as New York closer Mariano Rivera had runners on first and second with only one out. But ironically, Game 1 hero Chase Utley grounded into an inning-ending double play, ending the threat.

Game 1 consisted of Phillies starter Cliff Lee throwing a complete game, allowing only one run and basically mowing down every Yankees batter he faced.

Game 2 to was different in that, aside from the two mistakes Martinez made, it was basically a pitcher's duel, which the Yankees took.

Rivera did throw a large amount of pitches in relation to his usual outings, but the seemingly ageless closer got the job done as the series heads to Philadelphia for Games 3, 4 and 5.

With the series now tied up at one a piece, Game 3 will be held Oct. 31 at Citizens Bank Park.
