Drexel men's basketball coach Bruiser Flint just received some bulletin board material for his team-and the season hasn't even begun.

Flint's Dragons were predicted to finish seventh in the 2009-10 Colonial Athletic Association preseason poll.

"Actually I was a little surprised [at the pick] because we return four starters," Flint, who is entering his ninth season as head coach, said. "We probably return more people, other than ODU, of significance. But it is what it is. We've still got to play the games."

Last season, Flint garnered CAA Coach of the Year honors after defying the odds. The Dragons were chosen to finish last in the conference, but Flint guided Drexel to a 10-8 mark in the CAA, culminating in a sixth place finish.

Flint's team now has another chance to surprise its critics.

But is another CAA Coach of the Year award a formality?

"I don't know about that," Flint said. "But when you're picked low and you finish high, that's how you win it."

Old Dominion was prognosticated to win the conference.

The Dragons open up the 2009-10 campaign Nov. 13 at St. Joseph's.
