Senior Cole Feffer scored his first goal of the season and the only goal for the Drexel men's soccer team in a 4-1 loss to Hofstra Oct. 14 at Vidas Field. The defeat drops the Dragons to 5-6 overall, 1-3 in the Colonial Athletic Association.

After a scoreless first half, Feffer scored his goal after being set up nicely with a run by Cory Rohlfsen.

According to the Drexel's official athletic Web site, "[Rohlfsen] angled his run toward the center of the field and placed a serve to [Cole Feffer] on the right side of the goal box. Feffer settled the pass and placed a blast to the upper right side of the net."

In the 59th minute, however, Hofstra equalized. Tres Hefron, in his second start of the season, got a hand on the ball but not enough of a grip to prevent a Hofstra goal.

Merely three minutes later, Hofstra senior midefield Rob Youhill volleyed a rainbow kick over his head from 15 yards out and made the Pride's second goal.

In the 68th minute, Youhill scored his second goal of the match, bringing the score to 3-1 in Hofstra's favor.

With the remaining 20 minutes of regulation, Drexel tried its best to make a comeback, but to no avail.

The Dragons drew three fouls in its offensive zone, resulting in free kicks by Fabio Assumpcao.

When there was only eight minutes left in the contest, Youhill led another shot towards goal but Heffron blocked the shot.

However, three minutes later Hofstra tried again and Steven Erichs took a dribble and beat Heffron on the left side to make it a 4-1 match.

Substitutes Eric Lynch and Joe Sales both has blasts on goal within 10 yards in the last minute of play, but Hofstra's goalie blocked both with his fourth and fifth saves of the match.

"The loss on Wednesday is making us even more pumped up to play Virginia Commonwealth on Saturday," freshman Taylor Brophy said.

Drexel will return to Vidas Field Oct. 17 for a 7 p.m. match against the Virginia Commonwealth Rams.
