Though it has been three months since we have watched our favorite characters face much drama and action, we are all remembering where previous season cliff hangers have left us. We are also getting ready for the possibility of new hit shows; although it's likely the newbies will probably fail and be canceled rather quickly.
We have decided to give a quick preview of the big shows that are returning this September and what to expect from it. Though not all shows are on the list, here are some of the highlights.
"30 Rock," the critically acclaimed comedy, will return this fall for a fourth season, which will premiere Thursday, Oct. 15. Storylines are being kept pretty quiet but will no doubt be high quality seeing the track record of the show. Who doesn't love the pairing of Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin?
"The Office" will resumed its time spot Sept. 17. Last May, "The Office" producer Jennifer Celotta said the sixth season would include a wedding for Jim and Pam, although she said the specifics of it had not been worked out yet. Celotta furthermore said Ellie Kemper would be returning as the recurring supporting character Erin, who she said was a "fun addition" to the show. "The Office" developer and executive producer Greg Daniels said in the sixth season there would be some sort of staffing changes for Jim at work and with Pam pregnant, viewers should expect some life changes in that area.
"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia": Plots in the fifth season will include a "Sunny" take on the current economic crisis, including a warped look at the mortgage crisis and Ponzi schemes. There will also be a "Sunny" take on the Octomom as Dee tries to get pregnant with as many babies as possible, and a look back at the gang when they were "Sunny Babies." Season five will also see The Waitress getting married, Mac tries to alter his life to honor the late Steven Irwin, Charlie gets a pet pit bull, Sweet Dee attempts to murder an ex-boyfriend and a plot in which the gang enters a frat house beer pong tournament. For those that caught the special live performance of the gang doing "The Night Man Cometh" at the Tower Theater, this season is highly anticipated.
