The following are crimes that occurred on or near campus and were reported to The Triangle by the Drexel University Department of Public Safety. All information included in this report is taken from law enforcement or DPS incident reports.

August 5, 2009

THEFT FROM BUILDING

12 a.m. 3000 Block of Market St.

A non-Drexel affiliate reported to Philadelphia Police that unknown person/s took a laptop that was left in an unlocked office cubicle. The location of occurrence is a non-Drexel property.

August 7, 2009

THEFT FROM BUILDING

8 a.m. Daskalakis Athletic Center

A Drexel staff member reported that unknown person/s took a keyboard and a clock from the Achieve Center Office while the office was open for business.

VANDALISM

12 a.m. 3600 Block of Hamilton St.

A Drexel student reported that unknown person/s damaged the driver's side front mirror of a vehicle while it was parked and unattended.

BICYCLE THEFT

1:30 a.m. 3400 Block of Powelton Ave.

A Drexel student reported that unknown person/s cut the kryptonite lock and took his bicycle that was secured to the front railing of his residence.

BURGLARY

2 p.m. 3600 Block of Powelton Ave.

A Drexel student reported that while inside her residence, an unknown black male wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans, removed the security bars and air conditioner from her first floor window and was attempting to enter the residence. The male fled without entering the residence when the student screamed.

August 8, 2009

BURGLARY

5:14 a.m. 400 Block of N. 33rd St.

A non-Drexel affiliate was arrested by Philadelphia Police after the male was observed by the property owner inside an occupied second floor apartment. Drexel Public Safety Officers responded to that location and were talking to the victims when the suspect returned to the scene. Public Safety Officers pursued the male and detained him until the arrival of Philadelphia Police.
