The following are crimes that occurred on or near campus and were reported to The Triangle by the Drexel University Department of Public Safety. All information included in this report is taken from law enforcement or DPS incident reports.

May 17, 2009

SEXUAL ASSAULT

1:30 a.m. 100 Block of N. 34th St.

A Drexel student reported that she was sexually assaulted by a male Drexel student. The victim was transported by Drexel Police to Jefferson Hospital for treatment.

May 19, 2009

ASSAULT

10:45 p.m. 400 Block of N. 36th St.

A non-Drexel affiliate reported that May 14, at about 10:45 p.m., he was walking in the 400 block North 36 St. when he heard several gunshots, and discovered that he had been shot in the left ankle. The victim was transported to HUP by a private vehicle. The investigation is ongoing by the Philadelphia Police Department.

THEFT FROM BUILDING

6:30 p.m. North Hall

A Drexel student reported that unknown person/s entered her room with no sign of force and took her handbag that was left unattended on her desk.

May 20, 2009

VANDALISM

2:43 a.m. 3500 Block of Pearl St.

Drexel Public Safety Officers observed three Drexel students acting suspicious, and observed one of the students spray painting graffiti on a non-Drexel building. The students were apprehended by Drexel Police and the incident will be sent to the Office of Student Conduct for disposition.

May 21, 2009

THEFT FROM BUILDING

2:50 a.m. New Towers Hall

A Drexel student reported that unknown person/s took his unattended Mac Book laptop from the 10th floor lobby.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE

10 a.m. 100 Block of N. 32nd St.

A non-Drexel affiliate reported to Philadelphia Police that May 16, between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., unknown person/s broke the right front passenger side window to his auto and took clothing and personal items from the vehicle.
