Little has changed in the past year with women's swimwear fashions. If you are a swimsuit junkie, there are many different swimsuit selections to please everyone this beach season. Runways splash with color, print and embellishment trends. Bold stripes, graphic appeal, modern art prints and exotic tribal textiles add character and style to any bathing suit. For this summer, colors in neutrals, black and navy rule the bathing suit palette. Embellishments such as ruffles, beads and metal grommets are popular as well.
Cutaway suits, or monokinies, covered the swimwear runways. This look is fabulous to amp-up the sex appeal. Designers have been showing one-piece and two-piece variations of this trend. The one-piece style usually cuts away at the waist. This style is perfect for covering up, but remains striking for the season. A cut-away bikini reveals even more around the chest and along the hipbone. These styles are perfect for a super athletic body-type. Suits similar to this style are the one-shoulder or asymmetrical cutes. They add a classy twist to a strapless suit by adding one diagonal strap and usually have cutaway section too. These suits are usually in neutrals such as nude, white and black because of their intense drape.
Retro style suits inspired by the 40s, 50s and 60s give more coverage and are highly fashionable. A high waist, rouching, halter-tops, and short or skirt-like bottoms can characterize retro swimwear. These styles are perfect for any fashionista because of their vintage appeal. Designers have taken tips from summer's past for this classic trend keeping colors in dark shades such as navy and red. A sheer slip is a flirty cover up for retro swimwear. Also, pair any of these styles with a head wrap and wedges to heighten the luxury of the ensemble.
Prints for beach season range from edgy graphic to soft earthy. Revel in a fun young look with a tie-dye or peace sign printed bikini for the season. Pair these hippies' styles with distressed denim shorts and a fun braided headband and you are ready for a carefree day at the beach. Tribal prints add an ethnic quality to a simple triangle bikini and are great for exotic beach getaways. Fun geometric graphics like stripes, respective shapes or a maze-like print add volume to a tiny bikini. Pair your geometric prints before hitting the sand with a playful bright halter-top. Animal prints remain a swimsuit pattern trend. Fierce prints such as zebra, leopard or python are chic for basking in the sun.
Embellishments like buckles and ruffles were all over the summer runways. Flirty ruffles create a sweet girlish charm to any bathing suit. Juicy Couture is one of the designers that use graceful ruffles to add a sexy splash to a suit. Ruffles instantly transform as simple bandeau top-skirt bottom into a modern and graceful piece. Buckles add a metallic edge to any swimsuit and are substitute for accessorizing with jewelry.
There is a variety of summer swimwear trends to please any body type, budget and style. If you want to keep it sizzling in the sun, monokinis and animal prints are chic and sultry. Ruffles and retro-inspired bathing suits are classic, fashionable and flirty. Youthful prints add heat to the bikini while setting the sunny mood of a day at the beach. When choosing a new swimsuit, the most important thing is to purchase a suit that makes you comfortable so you exude confidence. Embrace the summer season with these heat-seeking swimwear and sunny cover-up trends.
