Ten years later, Columbine still raises questions for students

While my college years are a vast improvement compared to my high school ones, troublesome people come in all ages, shapes and sizes and shootings are not limited to the high school years. A prime example of this is the Virginia Tech massacre in April 2007, which killed 32 people. A 2000 national safety school report attempted to characterize a "typical" school assassin as a male loner with a grievance. However, I do not think we should try and look for what makes a school assassin "typical." Furthermore, using "loner" as one of the defining descriptions of a possible mass murderer would not be very helpful in narrowing it down for us.
What we should hope to do is take more notice and not be afraid to help someone. We all have our inner demons. However, some people's inner demons are larger, more powerful and stronger than that of others. Therefore, when we look back on Columbine we should not only have sympathy for the victims and their families, but also for Harris and Klebold whom I consider victims as well. Because in this case, the line between good and evil was not defined and clear, it was very blurry.

You are still being lied to. Big time. If you want to find out what really happened at Columbine I suggest you read what the eyewitnesses had to say:

I agree with your article. It makes you wonder what would've happened if people would've payed more attention to all the warning signs. But it shows that no one really cared. (Continued…)
