The Drexel women's softball team finished its home season with a 6-11 record in the CAA, and a 23-19 mark overall.
The Dragons were led by junior all-star catcher Ashley Botelho. She finished her season with a .415 batting average, 23 runs scored, 54 hits, 10 doubles, seven home runs, 30 runs batted in, 85 total bases and a .654 slugging percentage.
Coming off three straight losses, Drexel squared off against inner-city rival La Salle for the Dragons' home season finale April 29.
The Dragons' 2-1 victory over the Explorers was highlighted by a great pitching performance by freshman Hillary Allen, as well as an outstanding catch by senior outfielder Lisa Williams in the fourth inning.
Allen pitched a complete game, allowing just one run while striking out five Explorers.
At one point, the Dragons were in contention for the fourth and final spot for the CAA championships, but faltered down the stretch, losing eight of their last 10 conference games.
Drexel will finish up its 2009 season with a two-game series against the Towson Tigers May 1-2.
The Dragons hope to salvage some admiration as they look to finish their season on a high note.
