Senior Kate Hynes and first-year graduate student Andrea Peterson not only excelled on the field, but also the classroom as well.
And for their outstanding efforts in both areas, Hynes and Peterson were named winter sports Colonial Athletic Association Scholar Athletes.
Hynes, a diver who majors in business administration, garnered the accolade for the second straight year.
Peterson, who is pursuing her master's degree in higher education, served as the starting point guard on the women's basketball team.
The CAA honors one scholar-athlete from each of its 22 championship sports.
To be nominated, one must be a starter or major contributor on his or her teams and have a minimum grade point average of 3.20. Honorees were chosen based on a vote of sports information directors from each of the member institutions.
