The Drexel chapter of Alpha Chi Rho will host One.25 Music Fest, a benefit concert to honor the memories of John P. Williamson Jr. and Ian Alexander, Drexel seniors and members of the fraternity who died Jan. 25 in a car accident.
Four other students, Kevin MacDonald, freshman, engineering major; Adam Marsh, pre-junior, business and engineering major; Andrew Cardamone, freshman, architectural engineering major; and Eric Rayburn, freshman, health sciences major, were injured in the crash while on a fraternity trip in north-central Pennsylvania.
All proceeds from the concert will go toward an endowment to honor Williamson and Alexander.
"I never want to see their memory fade away," Nick Bonavita, a junior majoring in chemical engineering and chaplain of the Drexel chapter of Alpha Chi Rho, said.
The concert will be held in the Daskalakis Athletic Center May 2 and will feature 12 bands on two stages. One stage will hold rock acts while the other will feature hip-hop showcases.
Vita said helping to organize the concert has helped the fraternity cope with the loss of the two AXP brothers.
Alex Dinkel, president of Drexel's Alpha Chi Rho, said he wanted to do anything he could to help honor their memory and that the fraternity is hoping to make the concert an annual event.
"We want something that will be at Drexel forever," Dinkel said.
The first endowment will be given to an incoming freshman, chosen through an application and interview process.
It will be given to, "Someone who really reminds us of [Alexander and Williamson] and who would be a leader," Dinkel said.
The name of the concert, One.25, is a reference to the date when Williamson and Alexander passed away. Bonavita said the members of the fraternity discussed what to call the concert, considering names related to Alpha Chi Rho, and decided that the date of the tragedy would be the most important thing to mention in the event name.

It's going to be a great time! Everyone come out, bring your friends, and enjoy yourselves. With exams almost every other week now and just about every other school finishing up with finals, come out and relax and have a great time and celebrate all of your hard work this past school year!!

It is all for a great cause. This will be a great time, and for that price, it is so worth it.
