The series, to premiere June 1, will feature 10 celebrities of various backgrounds as they are placed in a Costa Rican jungle.
"[The contestants will] face challenges designed to test their skills in adapting to the wilderness and to raise money for their favorite charities. Rod Blagojevich will be a participant on the show pending the court's approval," NBC representatives said in statement to Access Hollywood.
Viewers will be able to vote celebrities out of the jungle. This "Survivor"-like show is based on a British show of the same name.
Blagojevich has already asked a federal judge to loosen his travel restrictions if his bond was increased, according to WMAQ-TV.
Blagojevich was removed from office in January after being charged of scheming to sell President Barack Obama's former senate seat.
He also attempted to extort campaign money from companies seeking state business and plotting to use the financial muscle of the governor's office to pressure the Chicago Tribune to fire editorial writers calling for his impeachment.
According to NBC, Blagojevich has already appeared in front of cameras in "Good Morning America," "The View" and "The Late Show With David Letterman" to defend himself during his impeachment trial.
