Do you ever feel lost? Like you're not sure which direction to take in life? Let's face it - sometimes we need help navigating this crazy thing called college. That's why I'm here. Consider me your third-party, impartial columnist. You have questions, and baby doll, I've got your answers. Or rather, I can provide my spin on things. So sit on down and buckle up, 'cause you're in for a big ol' Sass Attack!
If y'all finding yourself in a hardship, seek me out at entertainment@thetriangle.org. Make sure to put "ADVICE" in the subject line. I got your back, sugar.
What do you suggest for a romantic date in the springtime?
Spring is my favorite time of year. Nothing says a perfect day like freshly bloomed flowers, the sweet serenade of birds and the beautiful sun. This truly is the best time of year to be outdoors. So take your date outside! Despite the fact that we reside in a city, there are plenty of outdoorsy things to do.
The first and most cliché thing is a park. And yes, Philadelphia has plenty of parks! One of my favorites is at 43rd and Baltimore. My friend Robert introduced me to Clark Park when I was a freshman as we took many walks through it during that particular spring. We had a picnic there on his birthday in a sunny patch of the park. Down by Old City there is Washington Square, which is lovely during the season. There are numerous other parks in and around the city waiting for you to discover them.
I would also suggest just taking a walk through the City. I love walking down Benjamin Franklin Parkway staring at the Museum of Art. It may not be the most scenic of spots, but it is wonderful to just walk down and admire the architecture of the city. Make your way to Love Park, another famous spot in Philly. Touristy, I grant you, but a part of this city nonetheless - in the summer, local kids swim in the fountain, which is so disgusting considering the homeless probably use that as a toilet.
Saving the best for last, I think the greatest spot in Philadelphia during spring is Rittenhouse Square. It is overcrowded, which is why I adore it so much. Rittenhouse is a collection of this city's people from artists to families to local business people to students. It represents this city so well in its diversity. So grab lunch at any of the nearby delis, lay out a blanket and admire this city with your date.
