Softball extends winning streak to six
The women's softball team extended its winning streak to six games with an 8-5 win over Farleigh Dickinson April 8 in Teaneck, N.J.
Sandi Wambold, Lisa Williams and Christina Rodriguez each hit home runs.
Hilary Allen pitched a complete game to earn her seventh consecutive victory for the Dragons (19-11, 6-3 CAA).
Allen, who saw her streak of 21 straight innings without giving up an earned run come to an end, improved her record to 8-5 overall. The freshman hurler has a team-leading 2.23 ERA.
Junior catcher Ashley Botelho currently leads the team in almost every offensive category including average (.435), home runs (five), runs batted in (26), hits (40), runs (17), doubles (nine), slugging percentage (.696) and on-base percentage (.495).
Women's lacrosse struggling
The women's lacrosse team has dropped three straight games and now sits at 7-4 overall this season - 0-2 in the CAA.
The Dragons lost their most recent game at Vidas Field to No. 20 James Madison 14-6 April 5.
Prior to that contest, Drexel fell 13-11 in overtime to George Mason at Vidas Field April 3 despite coming back from a four-goal deficit with less than 15 minutes remaining to force the extra session.
Freshman sensation Charlotte Woods leads the team in goals (25) and points (30).
Senior goalie Lauren LaBella has started all 11 games and has posted an 8.82 goals against average and a .488 save percentage.
Becca Drylie-Perkins and Katie Lawson have each scored 20 goals and are enjoying fine seasons.
