No. 6 Hofstra downs Drexel

The men's lacrosse team gave No. 6 Hofstra everything it had, but in the end, the Pride were just too much for the Dragons as Drexel fell 12-7 April 8 in Hempstead, N.Y.

Kyle Bergman had a career-high four goals in a losing cause for the Dragons, who dropped to 4-7 overall and 0-3 in CAA play.Bergman got Drexel within 7-6 with four minutes left in the third quarter with a man-up goal, but Jay Card scored 3:15 later to put Hofstra ahead 8-6. The Pride then scored the next four goals to take its largest lead at that point, 11-6.

Senior Joe Wojciechowski had three assists for the Dragons, while Colin Ambler added two.

Tom Dooley led Hofstra (8-1, 4-0) with four goals, while Anthony Muscarella and Card each recorded three goals apiece.

Mark Manos had 14 saves for Drexel. Andrew Gvozden made 11 stops for the Pride.
