Grill 155 in Northside Market closed March 20 due to plans for the new Dining Terrace, opening fall 2009, according to Northside Market employee, Theresa.

Students of Race Street Residence Hall, located across the street from Northside Market, were outraged by the news. Freshmen Ravi Patel and Karthik Ravichander, psychology and business majors, respectively, said they missed the chicken quesadillas the most.

Freshman biology major Amy Javia said most of her dinners came from Northside Market.

"It sucks," Javia said. "I go without dinner some nights."

John Falcone, a freshman biology major, said he dislikes sushi, so the new sushi bar in place of the grill is not appealing.

"I think it would have been cool if they had opened up a taco bar like Chipotle," Falcone said.

According to a Facebook group called "Down with Kelly Deli Prices," the prices at Northside Market are too high, only to drain students' Dragon Dollars each quarter "as fast as possible."

In a discussion area on the group's page, Frank Vulpis, a senior film and video major, said, "Are you guys aware that we are payind (sic) [$]3.50 for a bag of cool ranch doritos. Ridiculous. ... I wish I had a chicken queso [quesadilla] right now."

The 24 members of the Facebook group discuss prices, the favored food at the recently-closed Grill 155, and the possibility of boycotting the establishment for a week to show their disdain for the expensive menu.

Northside Market added the grill in Fall 2007.

Yeah that sucks. I somewhat think of it as a monopoly type of situation. With the lack of retail competition on campus they can charge whatever they want and students will pay. (Continued…)

This article makes me embarrassed to go to this school. Which one of our logically impaired freshmen are "outraged" by a temporary closing of the grill? Theres going to be a Chick-fil-A, a Subway, and whatever else they're putting in there within the next 6 months. (Continued…)

I personally contacted Drexel Business Services and voiced the concern a week back. They re-arranged some things and the grill will be back in a week or so. (Continued…)
