The women's lacrosse team (7-2) is off to a hot start, winning seven of its first nine games.

The lacrosse team started off its amazing season with a miraculous comeback win over Virginia Tech. The Dragons came back from a three-goal deficit with less than eight minutes remaining to guarantee a 10-9 victory in their opener. Junior midfielder Katie Lawson led the team with three goals.

Drexel followed up that victory with another exciting win over American. The Dragons had three players with hat tricks and took the game 10-6. Junior attackman Becca Drylie-Perkins, junior midfielder Mariana Uribe and freshman attackman Charlotte Wood each netted three goals.

The Dragons next win was against La Salle. Drexel trounced the Explorers 12-5. The women put on a shooting display and outshot the Explorers 28-15.

Their next victory was against George Washington. Drexel began the game with a 7-0 run and never let up, defeating the Colonials 13-8. Lawson and Drylie-Perkins combined for seven goals.

Next on Drexel's list were the Blackbirds of Long Island University. The Dragons, led by Wood and Lawson, had 13 different players score on their way to a 19-5 romp.

Drexel then faced off against the Saint Joseph's Hawks. This was another close battle for the Dragons and they fought off their inner city rivals 6-5. The Dragons were able to overcome seven yellow cards in the game.

The women's most recent win was against the Bucknell Bison. Wood led the Dragons with five goals, while the team scored 10 total goals in the first half. Drexel defeated the Bison 13-8.

The Dragons two losses came against neighbor and rival No. 5 University of Pennsylvania and Lehigh University.

The women's next game will be April 3 at home against conference rival George Mason at 4 p.m.
