The following are crimes that occurred on or near campus and were reported to The Triangle by the Drexel University Department of Public Safety. All information included in this report is taken from law enforcement or DPS incident reports.

March 4, 2009

THEFT-MOTOR VEHICLES

9:28 a.m. 3100 Block of Market St.

A complaintant reported the front passenger side window of his car broken. Nothing was taken from the vehicle.

THEFT-MOTOR VEHICLES

10:25 a.m. Parking Lot F

DPS received report from a Drexel employee of his gray 2006 Acura ESX having been vandalized. The passenger side window of the car was broken, and a G.P.S. system valued at $200 was missing from the car.

March 5, 2009

THEFT-BICYCLES

12:13 a.m. Bossone Building

A Drexel student reported his blue and silver Scwhinn Road Bike stolen from the bike rack near Bossone. The student had locked his bike with a cable cord lock which was found cut

THEFT-MOTOR VEHICLES

1:42 p.m. 3400 Block of Warren St.

A complaintant stated her 1999 red Volkswagen had been vandalized, with the front passenger side window broken and $5 missing in change.

VANDALISM

1:44 p.m. Parking Lot F

DPS received report of a vandalized vehicle with a broken window.

March 6, 2009

THEFT-FROM BUILDINGS

3:35 p.m. Randell Hall

A DPS officer discovered a projector valued at $1,000 missing from room 118 in Randell Hall.

March 7, 2009

ASSAULT

12:13 a.m. 100 Block of N. 34th St.

A Drexel student reported assault by his roommate. The victim said the suspect walked into his room and started screaming at him, and when the student got up and told him to stop yelling, the suspect began to hit him.

March 8, 2009

VANDALISM

11:45 a.m. 3300 Block of Race St.

A Drexel student reported that someone had dented the hood of her car and splashed ketchup along the passenger doors when she left it in a parking spot on the right side of North Hall.



ASSAULT

11:22 p.m. University Crossings

A complaintant reported the suspect had hit her, and that she had then placed her hands around the suspect's neck, choking her. There were no visible signs of injury. An officer noted scratch marks on one individual's neck.

March 9, 2009

THEFT-FROM BUILDINGS

9:35 p.m. Main Building

A facilities worker reported her black bag containing a pink wallet and keys missing from the facilities desk on the fifth floor.

March 10, 2009

THEFT-MOTOR VEHICLES

8:05 a.m. 100 Block of N. 32nd St.

It was reported some items missing from their 1998 Toyota Corolla with no signs of forced entry.

Useful, though I wish the Triangle would put up a "How to be safe while living in a Urban city" guide, common sense and streets smarts aren't in ready supply. (Continued…)

Cheap Auto Insurance Update

The number of vehicles stolen in Pennsylvania on an annual basis is always 30k+ , That number has fluctuated a bit over the years as there has been a greater effort to bring this number down. (Continued…)
