Torpedo IPA overwhelms with tingling sensations

Strangely, this beer is not very aromatic and actually disappoints. Other than the sweet hops, no flavors are pronounced. I wish I could say more, but nothing else came to mind.
Luckily, the taste of Torpedo Extra IPA more than overcompensates for its lack of nose. At first, a sweet resin flavor and grapefruit come through. As it travels to the back of my mouth, hoppy bitterness overtakes my taste buds and slides down. After each gulp, the flavor coats my entire mouth and seizes to disappear. Although this beer is slightly astringent, it's very bold with its flavors and I couldn't be any more excited! In addition to the taste, the mouth feel is nearly perfect as it remained extremely balanced from start to finish. Although the alcohol did not hit me extremely hard, I felt the tingling sensation of a buzz approaching - which was good enough for me.
I have to admit that I was caught off guard by this beer and really did not expect anything amazing. Although I've had a few of Sierra Nevada's brews before, I don't remember being overwhelmed by them. However, this brewski ended up being delicious and I can say that I loved it. I highly suggest you give Sierra Nevada's Torpedo Extra IPA a try - especially considering its cheap price that we college kids can afford.

I'm a fan of this beer too. It's a triple threat of good price, taste, and ABV. I used to work at a liquor store and I still hang out there sometimes. (Continued…)
