W. lax wins big over La Salle

Charlotte Wood has burst on to the scene for the women's lacrosse team.

The freshman, playing in only in her fourth career game, netted six goals and also had an assist as the Dragons handily defeated the La Salle Explorers 12-5 Feb. 25 at Vidas Field.

Wood now has a team-high 11 goals on the season.

The Dragons, who improved to 3-1 overall, also got a pair of goals from Becca Drylie-Perkins and one each from Katie Lawson, Nicole Musto, Katie Blazer and Amanda Gregg.

Senior goalie Lauren LaBella earned her third win of the season, stopping five shots.

The Dragons outshot the Explorers 28-15 and led 12-8 in draw controls.

With the win, Drexel improved to 3-0 at home.

The Dragons will next face George Washington in Washington D.C., March 1 at 1 p.m.
