"It really celebrates our history of Drexel athletics, something that we haven't always done," Director of Athletics Eric Zillmer said. "If you look at it carefully we've been playing sports for over 100 years and our history is very, very rich. The good attendance, and what it meant for the people there, shows you how important it is to celebrate our history so we can prepare for the future."
Delsi received the Athletics Director Legacy Award and has covered Drexel basketball for 27 years. He broadcasted four NCAA tournaments over 15 years for the men's basketball team. Since the mid-1990s, he has anchored the women's basketball games. In addition, he is an inductee of the South Jersey Coaches Hall of Fame and the Philadelphia Broadcast Pioneer's Hall of Fame.
"It was absolutely incredible," Delsi said. "I had no idea they were even thinking of doing it, let alone considering inducting me into Hall of Fame. I've enjoyed immensely what I've been doing for Drexel University for nearly three decades. The fact that they've even honored me for doing that makes it even more of a blessing."
Bajkowski was named an Honorable Mention All-American men's lacrosse player at Drexel. He had 158 points and is fourth all-time at Drexel with 99 assists. He graduated as Drexel's career leader in assists and points in just three years.
Kratz, a softball player, was the 1992 NAC Player of the Year and is third all-time at Drexel with a .324 batting average. She is also first in career runs (103) and career triples (15). She was a 1992 and 1993 All-NAC First Team member.
MacNeill was a First Team All-America East selection and team MVP for the women's basketball team in 1996. She was a District II Academic All-American in 1996. MacNeill is fourth on the Drexel career-scoring list with 1,519 points and in career rebounds with 888.
Serban, who starred on the soccer field, was twice named All-East Coast Conference Most Valuable Player. He was also a three-time All-ECC pick. Serban ranks third on Drexel's all-time goal-scoring list with 46 tallies. His 96 career points rank third. He led the Dragons in goals three times. His 16 goals in the 1986 season ranks as the second-best single-season total in program history.
