Wittorff was a dual-sport athlete at Drexel, competing in both football and lacrosse. An offensive lineman on the gridiron, he was named a 1963 Williamson's Little All-American Honorable Mention. Wittorff was also a two-time All-MAC pick. On the lacrosse field, he was a Second Team All-League selection.

Cozen was one of the most successful coaches in Drexel men's basketball history. During his 16 seasons (1952-68) Cozen coached 12 championship teams in a 14-year span. He won his first title during the 1953-54 season.

"It's very important to recognize our past and recognize these great, former athletes to show current student-athletes and just the community what came before them and what they can aspire to themselves," Jill Axel, the associate athletic director for external relations said.

The potential candidates are determined by a Hall of Fame committee comprised of approximately four administrators and two alumni who are in the Hall of Fame. They must be nominated and have graduated at least 10 years prior to the selection if they are athletes and five years if they are staff members. Once this is decided, the committee meets and votes on whom should be inducted.
