Capt. Christopher Ferguson will be honored as the 2009 Engineer of the Year at a dinner hosted by the College of Engineering Feb. 20.

The invitation-only ceremony for Ferguson, alumni, faculty and staff will take place at the Rittenhouse Hotel.

Elizabeth Brachelli said the main focus of the event is to honor Ferguson and also to give award to faculty, staff and vey distinguished alumni.

At the event, nine alumni were inducted into the College of Engineering Alumni Circle of Distinction. The ceremony also honored ten staff members for their outstanding work in engineering.

Ferguson will also give a lecture at the ceremony. The dinner is one of the last events of Engineers Week and is one of the top events, according to Brachelli.

"The week is so exciting and has turned out incredibly successful," Brachelli said. "I hope it inspires engineers."
