Letters to the editor
Issue date: 2/13/09 Section: Ed-Op
Dear Drexel Faculty,
I wanted to say thank you to those of you here at the University who have shown your dedication to students' well-being by working hard to hand back at least one major grade by the end of week six. It is important that students be sure of their progress so they can breathe a sigh of relief with the knowledge that they are actually passing, or take the appropriate measures to improve their performance or make a rational decision to drop a based on hard scores - not just on a hunch of what they may have gotten on a test.
I think it is very important to say thank you to those professors who decide to honor students' needs to gauge their level of achievement. I urge professors and students with concerns about grades or matters pertaining to the provost's policies, academic issues, and other school-related problems to contact their respective USGA college representatives where appropriate for more information and to get those questions addressed.
Thank you again, professors - we appreciate the hard work you put into your classes and your dedication to your students.
PS: To students reading this, when was the last time you thanked your professors for doing their job?
