Do you ever feel lost? Like you're not sure which direction to take in life? Let's face it - sometimes we need help navigating this crazy thing called college. That's why I'm here. Consider me your third-party, impartial columnist. You have questions, and baby doll, I've got your answers. Or rather, I can provide my spin on things. So sit on down and buckle up, 'cause you're in for a big ol' Sass Attack!
If y'all finding yourself in a hardship, seek me out at entertainment@thetriangle.org. Make sure to put "ADVICE" in the subject line. I got your back, sugar.
My parents are divorced, I graduate in June and both of my parents want to throw me a party. The problem is, they live three states apart and they want to do it the same day. Neither will compromise.
Oh, la divorce, such ugly business. Since when did love have an expiration date? And why parents insist on putting their children in the middle of it boggles my mind. Sadly, you are in an all too common situation. Your solution is not easy. You must be the adult mediating two children. Try and set up a three way conversation either over the phone or over instant messenger (though face to face is preferred, though understandably difficult due to distance) and talk it through. Explain your position and that their lack of cooperation is hurting you. Hopefully, one grows up and compromises. However, I realize that won't always be the case.
Let's face it, old people are stubborn. Hell, I am. If this is the case, you have a difficult decision to make. You are going to decide one party to go to. Follow your heart and don't listen to anyone else. Ultimately, this decision is going to affect you the most.
My ex is trying to get back with me. I really cared about her, but our relationship had tons of problems. Should I give it another shot?
History is not just a class, but you can learn a lot from it. Too cliché? Let's face it, if things weren't working before, what could be different now? Yes, there is always the chance that your time apart has led itself to some soul searching and personal growth. People can learn from the past and better themselves. But let's face it, this usually either takes years or extreme circumstance.
