here are a lot of "experts" in our society. We've all seen political experts that insisted an inexperienced guy named Barack couldn't win an election. There were financial experts who thought Enron was a "can't miss." And who can forget the pop culture experts who said Brad and Jen were meant to be?

There were also those slick college basketball experts who predicted your Drexel Dragons men's basketball team to finish last this season.

As Drexel students, I think we are used to being the underdog. We're proud of the fact that we work for our successes - we make fun of the silver spoons and popped collars sported by the kids down the street, and brag about our co-op experiences to our friends working their "normal summer jobs."

After essentially being told by the experts that they stink, look how our boys have responded. Currently sitting in fourth place in the Colonial Athletic Association, our Dragons have played this season with a sense of swagger that I think we all have, the "I'll show you" attitude that makes Drexel students winners.

The women's team has responded in the same way. How many experts realized that one of the best players in the nation is a Drexel Dragon? In the extremely tough CAA, who would have had the gumption to predict the Drexel women as number one contenders, which they currently are?

Our fans have taken the same attitude and made the DAC once again one of the toughest places to play in college basketball. Using intelligent jeering and good old-fashioned noise, we have made every team who has entered our building move its huddles as far away as possible from the DAC Pack because they couldn't hear.

We pushed a player (who made an obscene gesture at the DAC Pack last season) to lose his cool and be removed from a game. We have made coaches resort to "your mom" jokes and taunts about students' weight because they couldn't take our needling.

In short, we have shown the experts precisely where they can stick their "predictions."

The men and women's teams have huge games this weekend. Please, take a few hours to show the world what Drexel students think about people who write us off. The experts are surely watching now.
