Coming off an impressive 13-4 season in which it reached the Colonial Athletic Association title game, the men's lacrosse team has four players who were selected to the CAA Preseason All-Conference team. Colin Ambler, Greg Casey, Matt McCormick and Ryan West were each chosen to the team by the CAA head coaches. The Dragons were picked to finish third in the conference's preseason poll. Ambler, a junior attackman, led Drexel with 21 assists and 42 points in 2008. He will serve as one of the team's co-captains in 2009.
Casey, a junior midfielder, tallied 13 goals and had five assists in 2008. He was a strong player on special teams, scoring six goals on the man-advantage.
McCormick, a junior defenseman, will also be a co-captain in 2009. He has started every game in his Drexel career. West, a junior midfielder and face-off specialist, won 60 percent of his draws last season. The Dragons return six starters and have won a share of the CAA regular-season title in each of the past two seasons.
