The following are crimes that occurred on or near campus and were reported to The Triangle by the Drexel University Department of Public Safety. All information included in this report is taken from law enforcement or DPS incident reports.

January 22, 2009

LAW VIOLATION-LIQUOR

12:31 a.m. Van Rensselaer Hall

A desk worker at Van Rensselaer Hall reported an intoxicated student to DPS. Medics were called to the scene to attend to the student.

THEFT-FROM BUILDINGS

5:43 p.m. 11th Street Clinic

DPS received report from an individual at the fitness center that she had left her MP3 player on top of a treadmill while exercising. The MP3 player was later reported missing.

January 23, 2009

ROBERRY

11:50 p.m. 3500 Block of Hamilton Street

A Drexel student reported two light-skinned black males to DPS and stated that they stopped her and two other students and demanded cash from them while threatening them with a black handgun. The suspects continued up the 3500 block. The victims were not injured and did not have anything taken from them.

BURGLARY

9:19 a.m. 33rd Street

DPS received report from a complaintant who stated that that someone cut the screen on their window and removed some items from their dresser.

January 24, 2009

LAW VIOLATION-DRUGS

1:24 a.m. University Crossings

DPS investigated a residence in Crossings under the suspicion of drug possession. Drug paraphernelia was confiscated from the kitchen counter, and a leafy green substance was located in the bathroom.

LAW VIOLATION-DRUGS

3:28 a.m. Caneris Hall

An RA reported a possible drug violation to DPS in Caneris Hall. Drug paraphernelia, along with a small rolled cigarette containing a leafy green substance was recovered from the room.

SEXUAL ASSAULT

5:00 a.m. Calhoun Hall

DPS received a report from a Temple student of an alleged sexual assault by several male residents of Calhoun Hall. The investigation by the Philadelphia Police Department's Special Vicitms Unit, along with the Drexel University Police Department, is ongoing, and all suspects have been identified and interviewed.
