The following are crimes that occurred on or near campus and were reported to The Triangle by the Drexel University Department of Public Safety. All information included in this report is taken from law enforcement or DPS incident reports.

January 13, 2009

THEFT-MOTOR VEHICLE

8:20 a.m. 3400 Block of Powelton Ave.

A Drexel student reported that the right side passenger window of her car had been smashed, and her GPS system, valued at $160, had been taken from the car.

THEFT-FROM BUILDINGS

2:25 p.m. Kelly Hall

DPS received report from a Drexel student who said that his wallet was missing after he left it in the pocket of his pants before taking a shower and hanging his clothes up in the shower room.

January 14, 2009

BURGLARY

5:59 p.m. North Hall

Three Drexel students reported missing items from their dormitory rooms. One student reported that his Apple MacBook Pro, valued at $2500 had been stolen. A second student reported this his silver Apple MacBook also valued at $2500 had been taken as well. The third student reported that his XBox 360 game console had been stolen.

VANDALISM

9:32 p.m. 3200 Block of Powelton Ave.

A DPS officer heard the sound of glass breaking and found a white male Drexel student standing next to a green Mercury Sable GS. The passenger side window had been broken, and the suspect was arrested.

January 15, 2009

THEFT

9:13 a.m. North Hall

A Drexel student reported that the tires from his bicycle, which had been locked to the bike racks in front of North Hall, had been stolen.

January 17, 2009

LAW VIOLATION-LIQUOR

3:47 a.m. Kelly Hall

An RA reported an intoxicated student to DPS. The student was transported to the ER of Presbyterian Hospital for treatment.

January 18, 2009

THEFT-FROM BUILDINGS

2:39 p.m. 3400 Block of Race St.

A Drexel student reported that after a party in his residence, he noticed that his Dell laptop had been stolen. A second student reported her Kodak Easy Share Camera and T-Mobile Sidekick cellphone missing.

January 19, 2009

LAW VIOLATION-DRUGS

5:13 p.m. Myers Hall

DPS was dispatched to Myers Hall after an AD/RD reported the smell of marijuana coming from one of the rooms. Drug paraphernelia and a small bag containing a leafy green substance was found in the room, and residue of a green leaf was found in an ashtray.

January 20, 2009

LAW VIOLATION-DRUGS

9:23 p.m. Kelly Hall

An RA reported to DPS that while conducting an inspection of a room, he found three plastic zip lock bags in a vacant drawer that contained a leafy green substance. The occupant of the room gave a scale to the DPS officer.
