Do you ever feel lost? Like you're not sure which direction to take in life? Let's face it - sometimes we need help navigating this crazy thing called college. That's why I'm here. Consider me your third-party, impartial columnist. You have questions, and baby doll, I've got your answers. Or rather, I can provide my spin on things. So sit on down and buckle up, 'cause you're in for a big ol' Sass Attack!
If y'all finding yourself in a hardship, seek me out at entertainment@thetriangle.org. Make sure to put "ADVICE" in the subject line. I got your back, sugar.
My news years resolution is to go to the gym three days a week. How do I keep my resolution, especially when it is too cold to leave my dorm?
Oh new years resolutions-how do I hate thee. I, too, rarely maintain my resolutions-last year I was going to spend less time shopping, more time studying. I feel your pain. But I have a solution for your resolution!
So, getting more active is your aim? Make no mistake; convincing yourself to start is the hard part. Tidbit one: go with a friend. You will hold each other to going (responsibility buddy), and it will be more fun.
Two: I'd also suggest taking a group exercise class-they are a blast. The DAC offers a variety of instructed classes. You may even learn something-it's how I learned the "Single Ladies" dance.
Advice numéro trois: have a goal in mind. Your goal seems to be "go to the gym three times a week." Don't be afraid to expand that. Say, you decide your goal is to get your arms two inches larger or to be able to extend your regiment to five days a week. The idea of working out is to improve yourself-so do so.
Ultimately, this will come down to will-power. Prove to yourself you can keep up your self-promise and be proud of that!
Suzette, who are you?
Um, I am Suzette De La Cré, daughter of Claude Baptiste Reminauld De La Cré and Jacelyne Marie Beauvais De La Cré and the last heiress to the Beauvais fortune. I hail from Savannah, but I was raised near Baton Rouge.
