One team lost its best player from last season, while the other has one of the greatest players in Drexel history.

One team shot 53.1 percent from the free throw line in its first game this season, while the other is shooting 84.6 percent from the charity stripe in two games thus far.

One team is supposed to finish in the cellar of the conference, while the other is supposed to contend for a CAA title.

In case you haven't been following basketball very closely this season, the former is the men's basketball team and the women's team is the latter.

I'm not saying the women's team will win definitely win the conference, nor do I think the men's team is going to finish last; but I do wish we could take a few players from the women's team and add them to the men's roster.

There are several great players on this women's team, but in particular, there are two who will most likely lead the team in scoring.

In two games, Jasmina Rosseel is shooting 7-13 from beyond-the-arc and is averaging 12.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg and 4.0 apg. Keep in mind, this is only in 28.5 minutes per game.

If that sounds like great productivity on the court, junior forward Gabriela Marginean is scoring 33.0 ppg, while getting 7.0 rpg, and shooting 55 percent from the field, 43 percent from the 3-point line and 91.7 percent from the free throw line.

This may sound like a joke, but can you imagine what would happen if Marginean could play on the men's team? It would have a player who can dribble, shoot, pass and score. More importantly, it would have a player who can make free throws down the stretch.

Marginean is 11-12 this season from the line, or 91.7 percent. Compare that with the men's team - 17-32, or 53 percent.

Coming into the season, I said there were three major concerns I had with this men's basketball team. I was afraid that the Dragons would have an excessive amount of turnovers, they would take bad shots and they would miss too many free throws.
