Ginger root brew stuck in 'Nest'

Here's to the official beer review of The Triangle! Each week I'll be ranking different beers from my own personal scale: The Suds-o-Meter. Rankings will take into account looks, tastes, smells, inebriation levels, and all that other stuff that makes beer so good (or so bad).
But enough of this formality crap: let's talk brewski.
Just a quick reminder, I welcome you to make requests for beers I should review.
With that said, we'll be reviewing our first requested brew, coming from reader Cara. This week's beer is classified as an herbed/spiced style-a style that is limitless in terms of what characteristics it can contain.
Like every other beer style, herbed/spiced ales take on the flavors that are added to the concoction.
However, with this style, there is a great variety of ingredients that can be used. Some of these beers can be seasonal like pumpkin ales or Christmas beers. Other beers under this category are known to have very unique ingredients like hot pepper, hemp and pine needles.
Looking at the style as a whole, I would best describe these beers as being very different and highly experimental.
Ultimately, the most important thing to remember is to be open-minded and give each brew a fair chance.
Seriously though, I have to wonder why anyone would want pine needle or hemp beer.
I guess you can't knock it until you've tried it.
Specifically, for this week's review, we'll be experiencing a ginger beer.
Hitachino Nest Real Ginger Brew is a ginger infused ale from Japan.
With a little red owl and funky font, its label is very attractive and projects itself very loudly.
The beer poured very nice and looked great.
The brown-orange opaque color was thick and was perfectly complemented with a chunky-looking head.
It was very pretty and looked delicious.
Unfortunately, the last time I checked, you can't smell your eyes.
With just one whiff of this beer, I was grossed out.
