A female Drexel student reported Oct. 12 that she was held captive and sexually assaulted in South Philadelphia by a taxicab driver, according to an incident report from Drexel's Department of Public Safety.

A police source said the car could have been an Olde City Taxi however; the investigation is still ongoing, according to the Philadelphia Police Special Victims Unit.

The suspect is believed to be a black male, 20-25 years old, medium build, no facial hair and a bald head wearing a short-sleeved shirt, according to the DPS incident report.

According to the police, the assault incident occurred on the 300 block of Manton Street. DPS reports said that the victim got out of the cab at 5th and Washington Avenue.

A person from Olde City Taxi who identified himself as the manager declined to comment and refused to answer questions from a student newspaper. Michael Lieberman, president of Olde City Taxi, said he has no knowledge of the investigation and has not been contacted by the police.
