Drexel Crime Report

The following are crimes that occurred on or near campus and were reported to The Triangle by the Drexel University Department of Public Safety. All information included in this report is taken from law enforcement or DPS incident reports.

BURGLARY

9:18 a.m. 200 Block of N. 34th St.

Student reported a white Mac laptop valued at $1,800 missing, along with a Verizon Window Pocket PC cell phone, valued at $400 and $45 in cash from his wallet.

THEFT-BICYCLE

2:57 p.m. Towers Hall

A Drexel student reported that his silver Schwinn bike, valued at $315, had been stolen from the bike rack in front of Towers Hall.

3:08 p.m. Van Rensselaer Hall

DPS received a report from a Drexel student whose $160 red X-Games dirt bike had been stolen from Van R.

THEFT

3:54 p.m. 3300 Block of Spangler Walk

A black and red Milwaukee tool bag with tools and a plummer laser was reported stolen from under the construction site trailer behind Van R. The estimated value of the missing items was $800.

THEFT-BICYCLE

6:18 p.m. 3200 Block of Powelton Ave.

DPS was notified by a Drexel student that his black and silver Schwinn bike had been stolen from a tree in front of his door. The value of the bike is unknown.

October 1, 2008

THEFT

1:26 p.m. 3300 Block of Spangler Walk

Four discs were stolen from the sidewalk on Spangler Walk. A video check showed two individuals taking the disc from the ground. The investigation is pending.

THEFT FROM BUILDINGS

4:43 p.m. Drexel Bookstore at MacAlister Hall

Three hard-back textbooks were stolen from the bookstore, valued at a total of $415. The suspect is known to have taken books from other University bookstores, including Penn, LaSalle and Temple.

THEFT-BICYCLE

7:27 p.m. English Language Center

A Drexel student reported to DPS that his blue Tony Hawk bike with blue handlebars and a black body had been stolen. The bike is valued at an estimated $190.
