Every autumn, the Campus Activities Board hosts the annual Fall Comedy Show, bringing some of the funniest talent to Drexel University.

This year is no different. Now in its ninth performance, CAB has put together what may be the best comedy show the Drexel community has ever witnessed.

How could this be? In the past, CAB has presented renowned comics such as Jamie Kennedy, Dane Cook, Jim Gaffigan and Stephen Lynch. This year, Drexel students will be given the opportunity to witness a comic we've all grown up with-Kenan Thompson.

Our generation has seen Thompson develop from a cast member on Nickelodeon's "All That" and "Kenan and Kel," and a star in "Good Burger" to a fabulous Bill Cosby and Star Jones impersonator on "Saturday Night Live."

Owen Benjamin, who has been seen alongside Ashton Kutcher on MTV's "Punk'd," will open for Thompson at the Fall Comedy Show. But better yet, one of Drexel's own students will perform to kick off the annual extravaganza.

CAB will throw a contest Oct. 30, "The Battle of the Comedians," in order to find a University talent worthy enough to perform in front of the grand audience in attendance of the Fall Comedy Show.

Anubhuti Singh, a senior majoring in computer engineering and CAB's director of Traditions, said: "This is the first time we're doing it. Six or seven people have contacted us about performing. This is a great opportunity for students."

Do you think you have what is takes to make every seat in the Main Auditorium cry out in laughter? Applications for "The Battle of the Comedians" can be found at the CAB office starting Oct. 13. All participants will be given a complimentary ticket to the Comedy Show for their efforts in "The Battle."

The ninth-annual CAB Fall Comedy Show will be taking place in Drexel's Main Auditorium Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will be available at the CAB ticket window located in between Creese and MacAlister beginning Oct. 20 at 5:30 p.m. Each ticket will be sold for $15 and two tickets will be issued per valid DragonCard.
