LEGO Batman falls short of superhero stature

Sound: If you have ever played a previous title in the LEGO series, the sounds are virtually the same. As far as the music goes, it just depends on whether or not you can stand listening to different varieties of the same Batman music during every level. Some may say this is a negative thing because there is no unique music, but without attempting to sound sarcastic, I actually enjoyed the same music over and over. It helped set the mood for the different levels.
Replay Value: There are lots of unlockables such as vehicles, special suits, and characters that will keep you playing for hours. Whether it's zapping people's hands to death as the Joker or freezing enemies as Mr. Freeze, you will not get tired of the selection of characters LEGO Batman has to offer. The biggest downside in regards to replay value deals with the lack of a story line. The premise consists of a bunch of villains escaping Arkham Asylum and trying to create havoc in the city while Batman tries to put an end to their madness. I was very disappointed by this weak storyline mainly because the game would have been enhanced if it followed the story of previous Batman adventures. This would have allowed more character development and would have added another dimension in the game.
Overall: LEGO Batman is impressive in the fact that it allows so much depth to the game regarding the amount of playable characters. The graphics are good, the sound is decent (even if it is repetitive) and it is certainly a rewarding experience to play as the best villains in the Batman universe. But due to poor camera angles, a horrible AI, a weak storyline and no online play, LEGO Batman falls short of being a great game. It is still an enjoyable experience, but hopefully the next LEGO game will have these flaws corrected.
The Fisch Rating: 7.9/10
