"I just wanted to acknowledge that reality. We know you can get this for free. If you want to, go ahead. If you want to pay for it, that's cool too," Gillis said.
This is Gillis' style-it's all about the music and the people.
Girl Talk will be traveling the country for the next two months and kicking off the first show of the tour in Philadelphia Oct. 9 at the Starlight Ballroom. Gillis says that this is going to be biggest tour he's ever done in terms of venue size. Also, instead of just him traveling alone, he will be bringing a group of his friends that will oversee all the other aspects of the live production to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Aside from the upcoming tour, what's in store for the future of Girl Talk? Gillis is looking to work with fellow Pittsburgh resident Skymall, who will be joining him in Cheswick, Pa., for his last show on the tour.
"It's going to be sample based and definitely danceable, but more working on individualized songs," Gillis said about his projected endeavors.
If you can't make it to the Philadelphia show, Girl Talk can provide the perfect soundtrack to your upcoming house party. Everyone will recognize at least one sample in the gnarly montage that is Girl Talk.
