In the most recent Democratic primary election, Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) won Indiana with a 2 percent margin over Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), finishing with 51 percent of the vote, The Washington Post reported May 8.

Obama won with a larger margin in North Carolina May 6, with 56 percent of the vote to Clinton's 42 percent, according to The Washington Post.

Sean Miller, president of the Drexel Democrats, called May 6 a good night for Obama and a disappointing one for Clinton. Miller indicated that Clinton barely won in Indiana, a state that had much of her blue-collar worker foundation.

However, Clinton said in a recent Philadelphia Inquirer article that she will stay in the race "until there's a nominee."

Miller said in his opinion, Clinton will do well in Kentucky, West Virginia and Puerto Rico, before the election ultimately comes down to super delegates.

Mark Greenberg, dean of Drexel's Pennoni Honors College, said he felt differently about the status of Clinton's campaign.

"[There is] less of a contest coming up," Greenberg said.

Greenberg said it is statistically impossible for Clinton to receive the nomination. Miller agreed, adding that the results show the momentum is not going her way.

"We're looking for someone who can provide reasonable solutions," Greenberg said about the search for a Democratic candidate.

Miller said he and the Drexel Democrats as a whole were proud of Drexel's involvement in the Pennsylvania primary April 22. Greenberg said the Drexel Votes campaign was able to register hundreds of voters who would not have otherwise participated in the election.

The Drexel Democrats are now gearing down for the year and planning how they can make things better for November's general election, according to Miller.

"In 28 years [I have] never seen campus more involved," Greenberg said.

He added that he has never seen Drexel in the media as much as during the current election.

Looking ahead, Miller said he thinks the Democratic candidates will face less criticism after a nominee is found.
