The Triangle is also reviewing our own plans to limit our impact on the earth. We are currently reviewing our distribution efforts and are going to better monitor the amount of waste we have with a goal of having only two percent of a press run left in bins at the end of a week. Our previous margin was 10 percent. If you see a bin that seems like every week has too many papers left, let us know at distribution@thetriangle.org.

It's been a debate within our own office about the paper; obviously, for business purposes we want the push as many papers out to students as possible. At the same time, though, we have to be socially aware of these environmental issues.

It really is not a conflict of interest, however, because we can still strive to have high readership levels, and at the same time have low waste levels. Our advertisers want students reading the paper, and don't want to be paying for papers that go to waste. In this scenario, everybody wins.

There will be more greening news from The Triangle, so stay tuned and remember to always recycle the paper and never litter. Also, if you have any thoughts or want to help with our greening efforts, please feel free to contact us at edboard@thetriangle.org.
