Hynes completed her junior season by placing 13th at the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships on the 3-meter board at Ohio State University.
Hynes placed 14th in the preliminary round, but rebounded to finish 5th in the consolation finals to move up a position in the standings.
Her first dive scored a 43.20, however she came back with four straight dives that scored 49 points or higher. She earned her position in the consolation finals after her final dive scored a 46.25.
Hynes had only one dive under 50 points during the consolation finals on her way to a total score of 312.30, nearly twelve points higher than her preliminary total of 300.40.
"It was a great experience for me," Hynes said on competing in the championships. "It was my second time at NCAAs so I was familiar with it and I knew a lot of the girls competing. I loved the high level of competition because I feel that I do best under the most pressured situations and I feel privileged to be able to compete at such a high level."
Hynes's 13th place finish earned her Honorable Mention All-America Status.
"I have been diving for fourteen years so getting that recognition shows me that all of the hard work I have put in for the majority of my life was worth it," she said. "It also makes me want to work harder for next year so that maybe I can make the finals."
Hynes also finished 20th in the 1-meter event at the Championships.
She was previously named CAA Outstanding Diver of the Year for the third consecutive season after breaking her previous high marks on both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives at the CAA Championships.
"It is really a great feeling to have awards and recognition like that," Hynes said of her numerous accolades. "However, I try not to look at scores too much and focus more on my season as a whole and how I have improved as a diver outside of records and awards."
Hynes said she could not have accomplished everything without the help of her diving coach Larry May.
