Brews Clues:
Tour Edition

Even though you see a fraction of the hardware that Victory owns, you get a sense of the huge scale at which Victory operates. The Victory fermentation tanks alone take up about half the size of the whole Flying Fish brewery! I'm not sure exactly who the person was that ran our tour, but she seemed more like a public relations director than a brewer. She was knew her stuff, though. The biggest disappointment was that there was no free beer. I understand there's a hop shortage, but can't we get a little taste of one of the many Victory brews? As a matter of fact, at their pub, they have a few draft only selections, like the Scarlet Fire Rauchbier or the Mad Kings Weiss. So even though the beer's not free, it sure is good.

Sly Fox Brewery and Restaurant, Royersford
The Royersford location is Sly Fox's bigger operation. They only have tours with brewers by appointment, but if you sit down for dinner and ask nicely, the manager of the restaurant will take you in the back for an in depth tour. Our tour guide really knew her stuff and as she took us through each part of the brewing process; she would let us know of the care the brewers take to make each bottle and can of Sly Fox beer. What's great about the restaurant is that the beers are available in all kinds of different sizes so you can try just a sample of the beer you want or get a whole pitcher to share with your friends.
