Gerald Colds, a guard for the men's basketball team, sets up for a 3-pointer.

The men's basketball team rallied from a 15-point deficit and had a five-point lead after Tramayne Hawthorne hit a 3-pointer with 1:02 remaining in the game. But Old Dominion (8-6, 13-13) sent the game to overtime after Brandon Johnson hit a trey with two seconds remaining in regulation.

The game eventually went to a second overtime and the Dragons had a chance to tie the game, but Hawthorne missed a 3-pointer with 25 seconds left,

Drexel (3-11, 10-16) lost a heartbreaker to Old Dominion 75-71 in double overtime Feb. 14 at the Constant Convocation Center.

Hawthorne had a team-high 21 points, seven rebounds, four steals and five 3-pointers for Drexel. He was the main spark for Drexel down the stretch and almost led his team to an improbable win.

Frank Elegar had 12 points and nine rebounds and six blocks.

But Elegar fouled out in the second overtime and Drexel was never able to recover.

Scott Rodgers and Randy Oveneke also fouled out of the game.

Drexel had 14 turnovers.
