Drexel is moving the tennis courts, currently between Kelly Hall and Ross Commons, to a field behind 7-Eleven in order to break ground on a new residence hall.

Tennis courts will be built on empty lot adjacent to the 7-11 at Lancaster Ave as a replacement to the closed courts near Kelly Hall, according to a University official.

"The design includes two tennis courts just like the current one. The University is going out for bid to hire a contractor for the job next week. Constructed is expected to begin in March," said an email from James Katsaounis, executive director of communications for the Division of Student Life and Administrative Services.

"Weather permitting, construction is expected to be completed in early May," Katsaounis added.

The tennis courts near Kelly Hall were closed to begin construction of a new residence hall.
