According to Weil and Fonorow, about 2,500 people from across the country attend Arts Advocacy Day each year. From Pennsylvania, about 30 percent are graduate students and eighty percent are from the Philadelphia area.

"It's a learning experience and they have the opportunity to speak in front of legislators." Weil said.

This year's art auction featured a cocktail reception via donations through the Victory Brewing Company and the Chaddsford Winery. Aside from the works of emerging artists, concert tickets from the Kimmel Center, Philadelphia Orchestra and 1812 Productions were auctioned off as well.
