Ron Paul is the true patriot among the candidates

Ron Paul has a firm stance against illegal immigration, stating that it is similar to "cutting in line," and "cheating those who come here fairly." The weight of illegal immigration weighs heavily on America; almost 35 hospitals along the southern border have closed due to the excessive abuse of free care given to illegal immigrants. His plan, the most sensible out of all the candidates, is to remove the benefits that illegal immigrants abuse, and set them aside for legal ones only. These current giveaways include welfare, tuition, healthcare and schooling. The removal of these incentives for breaking the law to get ahead in the citizenship process will be effective; one of the few ways to turn them back without using force.

The second part of Ron Paul's plan is to bring back our troops overseas and to station them along the U.S.-Mexico border to assist border officials already there and to stop the dangerous drug wars that occur as Mexican drug lords try to traffic their substances across the border. It is incredible that a candidate with such a sensible plan is being dismissed by the mainstream media. No other candidate has offered such an idea.

Those voting via the media's suggestions do not grasp the crisis situation that America faces. Our dollar is quickly falling in value because of the $470 billion Iraq War. America's civil liberties are being eroded and our government's role is expanding beyond our control. We have ignored the Geneva Convention and allowed the government to create a workaround to habeas corpus.

This election is crucial to get a vote to salvage America, to vote for Ron Paul's plan to get us back on track. It would make no difference if Ron Paul were a Republican, Democrat, Independent, or Libertarian. The person with the right plan needs the most votes, and that person is Ron Paul. Voting for "the most popular" candidate is terribly hypocritical and illogical.

A candidate will get more popular from individual voters spreading the message, and from a strong message. Ron Paul can be a well-known, commonly referenced candidate if people are willing to study his message and espouse his ideas.

Ron Paul has attracted both Democrats and Republicans to his party, frightening the Democrats at Temple University so much that they handed out papers at the Ron Paul rally in Philadelphia in a sad attempt to frighten potential voters away.

Those who really enjoy the American ideals of liberty and freedom, and understand that the cost of liberty and freedom is exposing oneself to risk of harm, are turning their vote to Ron Paul.

The false illusion of safety that our current administration offers is not worth sacrificing liberty to obtain. In standing up for this concept, Ron Paul is the true patriot among the presidential candidates, for a true patriot does not stand for his country, but what his country should stand for, and when his country loses its way, the patriot's duty is to bring it back to where it was.
